I’m Sorry, My Videos are Terrible

Over last several months, I been bumping into videos from a very popular and successful serial entrepreneur, Gary Vaynerchuk. Right now, Gary is my spirit animal. Over the weekend, I found the time between drilling through concrete walls, to hang the blackout shades for “soon-to-be here” Baby Boneparth, and lugging a 60 lbs filing cabinet from SoHo to the UES, to watch a bunch of his videos. Family first right, Gary?

If you haven’t checked him out or watched one of his videos, do that right now. I am still getting through a lot of his content, but having watched just a handful of them, I am addicted to his passion for the #hustle and for hard work. More importantly, however, I have also realized that the video content I’ve made for my YouTube channel, BoneFide Wealth, is just terrible. Why are my videos terrible you ask? They are terrible because they are BORING af. Even worse, they just aren’t me and they sure as hell are not the brand that I am building.

It’s funny because on several occasions I’ve been told that there’s a mismatch between my ultra-extroverted and super passionate personality versus what you will see in the videos for The Millennial Problem AND Solution. One professional commented that I wasn’t “raw”. She, and everyone else, was absolutely right.

If I want to get people fired up about personal finance, I am flat-lining in every video I’ve made so far. Watching Gary’s videos pumps me up (and angers me) because the way he talks about what he loves is the way I talk about what I love…just not on film! Gary, you don’t know me, but you too have called me out on my b.s.! I’ve been holding back BIG TIME and, honestly, it makes me sick. It’s unacceptable.

Look, there’s a number of reasons or excuses I can throw at you, and myself, for why this happened. I mean, how could it happen?! I crush these things. It doesn’t matter, thought, because that’s going to change starting now! I am not even going to take down the old videos, because I want to be reminded of how I robbed us all of the passion I put into my work.

So, thanks Gary. Yes, you don’t know me, but I am sure you are accustom to people like me getting pumped up and excited by what they’ve seen in you. It’s probably why you have the following that you do.

So, just in time! Click below to watch the rebooted version of The Millennial Problem Part 1.
