The Millennial Generation is diversely one. I was reading an article on POPSUGAR titled Why Early-’80s Babies Are Different Than Other Millennials. I found the article quite amusing and relatable, since I am on the older end of the Millennial spectrum. It examines the segment that is arguably wedged between Gen X and Millennial (the premature-Xer or old-fart Millennial I suppose?). However, what piqued my interest about the article is how technology is the true arbiter of our generation. Do you remember the Oregon Trail, dial-up Internet, AOL chat rooms, Napster and a world without social media? I do, and what a time it was to be alive!
Well, if you remember these things like it was only yesterday, you not only have been drinking legally for the better part of a decade, you are the “older Millennial.” One alcohol, please! The point is, that while older Millennials and younger Millennials might view each other differently, it’s technology that binds us together. We all get it, use it and require it to operate our lives in ways that bewilder older generations. It’s just that some of us got to skip the beta testing.
